Magnificent Marco Vargas

Marco was born in Santiago Chile. At the tender age of six, his brother, Orlando Vargas, introduced him to the wonderful, magical world of circus performance and ever since then his love and passion for the art of the circus has continued to grow.

At eight years old he appeared in his first circus show. By thirteen Marco enrolled at the Circo Del Mundo, the renowned circus school in Santiago, Chile. Marco learned the principal elements of circus: acrobatics, juggling and Chinese pole; as well as taking lessons in dance, Theatre and trapeze.

2009 marks his circus journey to South Africa, where he began training on a full-time program with SircuSynergy in circus and performance. Marco worked with SircuSynergy in various productions, both nationally and internationally, in countries such as Zambia, Dubai, Tanzania, Namibia and the Seychelles. Locally, he has toured the country with a number of Barnyard Theatre shows, including “Rock Circus” and “Big Top Rock” and performed at Vaudeville, Electric Mansion, Afri-Klassiek, Mosaik Theatre, Urban Circus, and many other productions around the country.

Marco was invited to perform at the opening of Pole Unity in 2012; and in 2013 he was invited to be a judge and guest performer at a showcase for the PFASA (Pole Fitness Association South Africa) Competition.

Marco worked full time with SircuSynergy for five years, ending his tenure there in 2014.
He now freelances for Art of Synergy in the following:

Acrobatic gymnastics and acrobatic dance – the fusion of strength, balance and coordination allows people to perform amazing feats with their bodies.
Two or more participants moving almost imperceptibly take on positions that would be impossible without an impeccable sense of balance, developing strength and flexibility with natural body weight. You will learn to work with sensitivity and the power of concentration to achieve perfect harmony.

What to wear: Comfortable body-hugging clothing that covers your midsection and the backs of your knees; or hot shorts. Please do not wear jewellery as it may injure fellow participants. No shoes needed.

Private training sessions

Private training sessions are the quickest and most effective way to learn.
Private lessons are an individual training option for people who prefer to work one-on-one or two-on-one. They can be taken as an enhancement to group lessons, or as a standalone training program. Private training sessions can be a great tool for brushing up on weak areas or to delve into areas of personal interest.

Private lesson topics can be anything of interest to the student. Lessons can progress at the student’s own pace.

7 benefits of private acrobatic instruction:

  1. Develop the fine details of your technique under the watchful eye of a professional private trainer.
  2. Improve your ability to execute more power in your techniques.
  3. In-depth explanations to gain a greater understanding of the concepts and principles of Systema.
  4. Accelerate the quality and progress of your training.
  5. Reach levels of proficiency and excellence that take far longer to achieve through group training alone.
  6. Fine-tune your personal areas of need.
  7. Enhance any group training that you are already receiving.
